Honestly, not a terrible game, just kind of overwhelming. The mechanics are complicated, to say the least. I kind of wish it were more popular, so there was more info out there on the game. You have to get in with an experienced alliance or do a lot of tinkering. Like a lot of tinkering. The whales kinda run the show, but that's pretty typical. That being said, as an f2p just picking this game up, I was consistently on the server leaderboard (In the first week anyway), so it could be worse.

I have leveled to level 25. It has been a slow and mindless leveling experience without having spent my money. So if you're looking for that kind of experience wrapped in space warfare wrapping paper (the graphics and interface are mediocre), this might be your game. I can't say you'll have any more fun if you spend money on the game, but I'm sure some people do. But beware, this game will get expensive. Fast. The prices are ridiculous. In the end, it's not really worth it IMO.

Great game. In the beginning, you have to learn how to do everything. But after a few days, there's not much you DON'T know. I keep waiting for a paywall to jump out at me. But, it's not here. I'm sure I could find one if I looked. If you enjoy space strategy games, this is the one! The only thing I find annoying is that dam music that keeps playing. But once you're playing the game. It's tuned out. I'd give them 17 stars if I could. You get it. Good game, go play it. Yeah...
